About

Jerome Beley grew up in British Columbia, Canada surrounded by forests. He has always had a love for wood and saw the beauty in the trees around him. Jerome began with a simple branch from a juniper tree and whittled away until a spoon had formed. He was awed at the colours in the wood and how the wood was shaped. Jerome continue to develop the art of woodworking by building traditional skin-frame kayaks, paddles, wooden spoons as well as other works of art.

At 28 he married his love Krystal and together they began their family. Over the next 8 years they were blessed with two sons and a daughter. Together they walked their path of life with many difficult obstacles and impediments to navigate through, and to their great fortune that path led them to an Orthodox monastery in 2008. This journey, though far from being over, has helped to refine and heal him, allowing him to become the man he is today. He was taken under the wing of his spiritual father and was instructed in icon carving and studied under him for 6 years. He has dedicated many hours to carving icons, developing and refining his skills, producing beautiful works of art.

Jerome, with his wife and children made a brave move to rural Saskatchewan in 2014, to live a simple life. They purchased an acreage, where they now enjoy their Jersey cows, pigs, goat and chickens. They also opened their home to foster children, sharing with them the love of nature, animals and God.

Jerome has a desire to continue working with his hands and to lead a simple life. He is a genuine hard working man, who allows the Holy Spirit to work through him to create beautiful works of art, that shine with the beauty and glory of God.
